Modern Flower Planters & Flower Pots

A modern frame for every season's color.
NMN Designs® flower planters are modern, architectural planters and flower pots for outdoor and indoor color, in fiberglass, 304 stainless steel and brushed aluminum. Choose tall flower planters for outside to lift blooms to eye level, long rectangular flower planters and troughs for railings, windows and borders, or round flower pots from 9.5" to 24". Fiberglass planters have drainage holes with watertight plugs, and watertight Knox planters make seasonal swaps easy. Every planter is much lighter than a stone, concrete or wood planter of the same size, and each one is sold manufacturer direct.
Why Designers Choose NMN Designs Flower Planters
Flowers change with the seasons; the planter shouldn't have to. A clean, modern planter in matte black, white or gray, faux concrete, brushed steel or satin silver lets the flowers lead, from spring bulbs to summer annuals, fall mums and winter greens. These outdoor flower planters are frost-proof fiberglass and rust-proof metal, so they stay outside year-round and never need to come in for winter.

Seasonal Color Made Easy
- Drop-in nursery pots: the Aster's interior shelf sits 9" below the rim, and watertight Knox planters work as cachepots. Set flowers inside still in their nursery pots and swap them each season without replanting.
- Drainage where you plant directly: most flowers need drainage when planted straight into soil. Fiberglass planters have drainage holes with watertight plugs, Madeira troughs and railing planters drain, and Knox planters and Madeira cubes and long blocks can be drilled.
- The right depth: annuals and bulbs root well in 8"–12" of soil, so a trough or long block is plenty. Perennials and flowering shrubs want 16" or more.
- Covered porches and decks: watertight planters keep runoff off the floor below.
Flower Planter Design: Thriller, Filler, Spiller
Container designers plant in three layers: a thriller for height (ornamental grass, cordyline or salvia), a filler for body (petunias, geraniums or begonias) and a spiller to soften the edge (sweet potato vine, creeping Jenny or trailing verbena). In a long flower planter, repeat the three every 12"–18". In a group of three flower pots in one color, give each pot one layer, tallest in the largest pot.
Indoor Flower Pots
Indoors, smaller fiberglass and stainless steel flower pots suit orchids, peace lilies, African violets and flowering kalanchoe. Keep the plugs in on hardwood and carpet, or set the plant in its nursery pot inside a watertight Knox. For a raised look, the Knox and Madeira wood-base planters are made for indoor rooms.
